Driving instructions
From Calgary International Airport:
- As you leave the airport stay to the right and follow South Barlow Trail
- Travel south on Barlow Trail to McKnight Boulevard
- Turn right at McKnight Blvd heading west
- Travel west on McKnight Boulevard to John Laurie Boulevard
- Turn left at John Laurie Blvd heading west
- Travel west on John Laurie Boulevard to 14th Street
- Take 14 St. W exit, and then turn left at 14 Street W heading south
- Travel south on 14th Street until you reach 24th Avenue
- Turn right at 24 Ave NW
- Travel west on 24th Avenue until you reach University Gate NW
- Turn right at The University of Calgary University Gate. This road will lead you to Hotel Alma.
From Highway 2 Northbound (from Lethbridge):
- Proceed north on Deerfoot Trail (Highway 2 becomes Deerfoot Trail inside Calgary)
- Exit to the right at JCT 16 Ave N WEST/EAST (Exit 258)
- Turn left at West 16 Ave N (Banff)
- Travel west on 16th Avenue until you reach University Drive
- Take North University Dr. exit to the right
- Travel north on University Drive
- When you reach the intersection for University Drive at 24 Ave NW, turn left and take the very next right at The University of Calgary University Gate. This road will lead you to Hotel Alma.
From Highway 2 Southbound (from Red Deer):
- Proceed south on Deerfoot Trail (Highway 2 becomes Deerfoot Trail inside Calgary)
- Turn right at McKnight Blvd AIRPORT (Exit 261)
- Turn right at McKnight Blvd West
- Travel west on McKnight Boulevard to John Laurie Boulevard
- Turn left at John Laurie Blvd heading west
- Travel west on John Laurie Blvd to 14th Street
- Take 14 St. W exit, and then turn left at 14 Street W heading south
- Travel south on 14th St. until you reach 24th Avenue
- Turn right at 24 Ave NW’
- Travel west on 24th Avenue until you reach University Gate NW
- Turn right at The University of Calgary University Gate. This road will lead you to Hotel Alma.
From Trans-Canada Highway Westbound (Highway 1 from Medicine Hat):
- Travel west on 16th Avenue North (Highway 1 becomes 16th Avenue inside Calgary)
- You will drive through a large portion of Calgary to get to the west side of the city
- Travel west on 16th Avenue until you reach University Drive
- Take North University Dr. exit to the right
- Travel north on University Drive
- When you reach the intersection for University Drive at 24 Ave NW, turn left and take the very next right at The University of Calgary University Gate. This road will lead you to Hotel Alma.
From Trans-Canada Highway Eastbound (Highway 1 from Banff):
- Travel east on 16th Avenue North (Highway 1 becomes 16th Avenue inside Calgary)
- Turn right at University Dr North exit (there is a second sign right at the exit saying McMahon Stadium/The University of Calgary)
- Travel north on University Drive
- When you reach the intersection for University Drive at 24 Ave NW, turn left and take the very next right at The University of Calgary University Gate. This road will lead you to Hotel Alma.
Parking
Guest and public parking is available at the Arts Parkade adjacent to Hotel Alma.
